My Mum and I enjoyed our one night stay at the old Half Moon pub with views of the main street of town with it's quaint cafes and shops with local artist painted windows. Our twin room was comfortable and clean with a modern ensuite bathroom and free parking. Ripley is a lovely, friendly, historical little town worth exploring. They served dinner down stairs in the pub which we enjoyed and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed as was the staff. They didn't serve breakfast but recommended a cafe down the road, which had a delicious menu. Great value for money.

I stayed at the Half Moon for a business trip. From the time I walked in I could see this was a great place to stay. The bar was filled with locals - and the staff knew everyone's name. Check-in was seamless, the room was clean and well appointed and the bathroom was huge! Comfy bed, quiet room and a good hot shower. All in all, a great place to stay - I'll definitely book again when I'm in the area.

We had booked the same best room as before and it matched its better than good rating. The bathroom was fine and the shower easy to operate - unlike some we have used! A particularly good asset, not always to be found in some hotels and B and Bs, was the amount of available drawer space and the hanging space in the single wardrobe was adequate for a short stay. However, our reception when we arrived should have been better. Other guests had been trying for some time to get into the premises. We were shown to the room and told that, due to Covid and a shortage of staff, breakfast was not available at the Half Moon. That's fair enough since breakfast was not part of the deal. Later, however, a notice on the staircase wall told us that, for the same reasons, none of the rooms would be serviced. Again that was no loss over a three day stay and with only a duvet to tidy but we do think that the tea tray should have been topped up each day with tea bags, sugar etc. We were unable to find the owner(s) to ask for more.To some up, we would be more than happy to stay again at the Half Moon not least because the prices are reasonable, despite the lack of servicing. What we are probably saying is that a more personal touch would have been welcome.

The landlady was very pleasant when we arrived. The room was a good size with plenty of tea and coffee and a comfortable bed. The shower was good. We were provided with a fan which was needed as ot was so hot. We had a very good night's sleep. Unfortunately because of covid breakfast wasn't available.

Nice homely pub with rooms, rooms are modernised and very clean, set in a beautiful village/town of Woking, just about 4 miles south of the M25,it's clean and comfortable with free parking only meters away, food is served there,I chose the chicken wrap,it didn't disappoint,if I remember I,m sure it's also a freehouse,so there a good selection of drinks, everyone was polite cheerfull, breakfast is also available, though I didn't have one during my stay, but I,m sure it's just perfect, good wholesome food, and I,ve paid a lot more for a lot less in other places,I recommend the Half Moon, and will definitely be staying there again

I stayed in the small room at the back which was very quiet. The meal in the pub was excellent. The town of Ripley is delightful.Easy access to RHS Wisley. My only advice is to let people know how to get to the parking on The Green (posted Cricket Club from the High Street just a few doors down from the Inn).

Big thank you to Kim & Gordon for a lovely stay. Kim's home cooked stew was incredible and Gordon made sure we didn't go thirsty! Having a large breakfast in the morning made sure you won't leave hungry. We had the double room with Ensuite, the room has character with beautiful original fireplaces and feels cosy.shower was nice and powerful. I think its fair to say the room could do with a little updating and the bed is a little tired. That said I'd stay again for sure, the place has a nice vibe and the staff couldn't do enough for us. We really enjoyed our stay. The room was really comfy and had everything we needed. The shower was very efficient although no shower gel is supplied. Staff are really great. We had an evening meal which was lovely and plentiful. The reasonable price of the room included breakfast. The only negative was the timing of breakfast which was between 7am and 8am - this is rather early for us. We would, however, happily stay again.

We were in the twin-bedded ensuite which is large enough for two and was warm and comfortable. The creaky floor boards in the bathrooom might disturb any with better hearing than us but, hey, this is an historic building! All the facilities and decoration were in good condition and clean. We liked being able to come and go as we pleased. The breakfasts were generous. We would definitely stay here again.

My son and I enjoyed a pleasant stay here. Chose it because it is convenient for the M25. A few minor things could have been improved. It is not obvious where you are meant to park. Some more information beforehand and a sign at the property would help a lot. Also a sign on the door that you have to knock on in order to gain access when the bar is closed would help. The heating in our room didn't come on in the evening, but did in the morning which was very odd. The choice of cereals at breakfast was a bit boring, but the cooked full english was fine and served promptly. The wi-fi signal in the room was rather weak so our devices tried to connect to a near-by BT router instead. On the other hand dinner was good and the staff in the evening and morning were very friendly and helpful. These are minor niggles that could easily be improved, overall a perfectly acceptable place for a stopover.

Ripley may be close to Woking according to the map, but it seems like a different world - it's a country village with a cricket green (behind the pub). The pub was closed when we arrived so we had to telephone the number on the door, but it was only a minute or two before we were let in. Parking was a bit of a problem at that time because there was a cricket match taking place on the green - the pub doesn't have it's own car park - however, later on there were a couple of spaces. But, if you're dressing up, watch out for the puddles on the way to and from the car park. The room was very basic, but clean, and the shower was good (though only a small bar of soap provided - no shower gel or shampoo). A hand towel would have been nice.It was a Saturday night and the World Cup was on TV so the pub was fairly noisy until around midnight, but that's only to be expected. What we didn't expect was the party in a nearby house which was still going on at 3am - not the pub's fault but something to bear in mind if you need a good night's sleep. I slept through it, but my wife didn't.We didn't eat in the evening as we were going to a family party nearby, but the cooked breakfast next morning was excellent - the sausages from the local butcher were lean and very tasty. The WiFi signal was fine in Room 1 and in the bar.

I recently stayed at the Blue Moon in Ripley whilst on a business visit to the area.I found it to be spotlessly clean, comfortable and a very welcome rest after what had been a long day. The full English breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately i did not get chance to sample a pint or have dinner at the Blue Moon but if they are as good as the accommodation and the Breakfast then i am sure they will be great. Thank you for your hospitality a highly recommended place to stay.

Stayed 1 night 28/5/14 , closed when we arrived but phone number on door to ring, soon answered and let in with a warm welcome , the room was a little small with a large bathroom but was quite adequate for what we wanted. Food and drink on the evening plenty, breakfast was well cooked and also cereals and juice. All in all enjoyed the stay.

Not many of these gems left. A small cozy pub / hotel which has plenty of character , good food and (bonus) hand pulled English real ale.Accommodation clean & basic. Free wi-fi . Strongly recommend

A clean comfortable room and bathroom and a full English breakfast. No frills but good value for this area.

Pleasant welcome, comfortable bed.Food in pub good and reasonably priced.VERY hot in room.A glass in the bathroom would have been nice, along with complimentary shower gel/shampoo.TV pixelated badly.Overall reasonable value for the area.
